Meskipun Shadows Fall telah mengalami beberapa perubahan line-up, untuk sebagian besar karir rekamannya, Shadows Fall telah terdiri dari Jon Donais (gitaris utama), Matt Bachand (gitar ritme, vokal bersih), Paul Romanjo (Bass), Brian Fair (vokalis utama), dan Jason Bittner (drum). Album pertama band Shadows Fall menampilkan Philip Labonte (dari band All That Remains) pada vokal utama; Tapi, dia segera diganti dengan Fair. Pada bulan Februari 2008, band Shadows Fall mendapatkan nominasi Grammy Award dalam kategori Kinerja Metal Terbaik.
