Whitesnake atau White Snake (Ular Putih) adalah band hard rock terpopuler & terkenal yang terbentuk di Inggris pada tahun 1978 oleh David Coverdale, setelah keberangkatannya dari band sebelumnya di Deep Purple. Bahan awal mereka dibandingkan dengan kritikus ke batu blues dari ungu dalam, namun perlahan mulai bergerak menuju gaya batu yang lebih mudah diakses secara komersial. Dengan pergantian dekade tersebut, corporasitas band Whitesnake berubah dan mereka merilis sebuah string dari Inggris 10 album, Ready an' Willing (1980), Come an' Get It (1981), Saints & Sinners (1982) dan Slide It In (1984), Yang terakhir adalah yang pertama mereka bawa di Amerika Serikat dan bersertifikat 2x platinum.

Album self-titled Whitesnake 1987 ini adalah yang paling komersial sukses di seluruh dunia, dan berisi dua hits utama AS, "Here I Go Again" dan "Is This Love", Mencapai nomor satu dan dua di Billboard Hot 100. Album ini berjalan 8 kali platinum di Amerika Serikat  dan kesuksesan band ini melihat mereka dinominasikan untuk Penghargaan 1988 Brit untuk Best Inggris Grup Terbaik. Slip of the Tongue (1989) merupakan kesuksesan, mencapai 10 besar di Inggris dan AS, dan menerima sertifikasi platinum AS. Whitesnake berpisah tak lama setelah rilis ini, namun memiliki reuni pada tahun 1994, dan merilis album studio satu off, Restless Heart (1997). Whitesnake secara resmi direformasi pada tahun 2002 dan telah berkumpul bersama sejak, melepaskan empat album, Good to Be Bad (2008), Forevermore (2011), The Purple Album (2015) dan Flesh & Blood (2019).
